During my relaxing visit home last weekend (which I thought would be the only one of the semester, because of Crew) I was suffering a great deal from pressure in my ear which quickly turned into pain through my left jaw. I couldn't even close my mouth! We went for Ethiopian food on Saturday night and realized that it was probably my wisdom teeth causing all of the pain. Sure enough, we called my Dentist the next day and he returned our call with a message that I had a severely impacted lower left wisdom tooth. That x-ray wasn't very recent but he said that I should get it out as soon as possible. I chose to wait until this weekend to have the tooth extracted. It turned out I had a cyst on the lower left tooth, which was causing an infection--bad news! Also, the 3 other teeth would soon do the same thing...we decided to go for all four teeth in one visit. I was out before I realized what was going on and woke up thinking I was still being prepped, only to discover that I couldn't talk...due to a large amount of gauze in my mouth. So, I am starting to eat more solid things...that are still along the lines of soft, but was stuck with pudding, yogurt, applesauce, etc. I felt like i had gone back in time about 19 years...I am feeling much better today, Sunday, but I decided it was better to drive up tomorrow. Today I will do some reading, and probably watch some movies...yesterday there were too many movies! I haven't felt so lazy in ages...
These pictures are a fairly good representation of what I looked like starting Friday evening through the day yesterday. I woke up to a very swollen left side...kinda like a squirrel hoarding nuts...but almost no swelling on my right side. I think it had to do with the cyst. Today my face is much less swollen, but still not back to normal. I am missing a tech rehearsal for a show I am in next weekend. It is the Five College Dance Concert, and I am in a piece that was choreographed by a guest choreographer to represent Mount Holyoke. It is a modern fusion that incorporates a great deal of ballet technique based improv work. It should be a lot of fun to put on, and hopefully as much to watch. My parents and Declan are coming up to see the show on Saturday. So, that is what has been going on here...no snow in NJ. It rained pretty hard on Friday and washed away almost all of the snow. MA still has snow, but it is warming up--I am ready for Spring! Spring break is coming up...FL and then VA, which should be fun!
Sounds like everyone is ready for spring, and that things are going well. Glad to hear the Southwest was fun Matt, Casey and Freya. The pictures were great!!
Love to all,
Magda

Poor Magda! I had my WT out at 19, too. The dentist said I woke up twice during the procedure to ask how long I'd have to wait before I could eat again. :-) Priorities... Hope you're all well and eating solid food again soon.
